Design & Build Quality
This is a very small, well-designed mouse that easily fits into your palm and can be used anyone but obviously not by people who love the bulkier and fat mouse. The Mi Portable Wireless Mouse is very flat than other traditional mice, so getting used to it for a gaming mouse user like me can be challenging. But to my surprise, the weight balance and hand feel of it is above expectation, making me forget I used a Logitech’s mouse before.
Xiaomi claims this mouse to have an ergonomic & comfort induced design, which for the price, is true. I deliberately tried to play catch practice with it and I fell it quite a lot of times but still, it was good enough to be used and no damage whatsoever, impressive build quality for a budget wireless mouse, so accidental falls can be handled by it.
Comfort of Use
The mouse is as I mentioned earlier has a very light-weight design and can easily be gripped into your palm and if you have a small palm then its great for you. As it has a flat design, even if you have a large palm you can adjust accordingly and use the button easily but not recommended if you are someone who is planning to use it for gaming.
Buttons & Mouse Wheel
One of the biggest features is the buttons as well as the wheel for both clicking and scrolling. The clicking experience is ok-ish, not a huge deal honestly, decent enough for a budget portable wireless mouse. On the other hand, the scrolling experience was smooth enough for basic browsing or normal tasks.
If you talk about the latency, there’s a bit of it during clicking, not be noticed if you haven’t used a premium wireless mouse or a wired gaming one. So its quite acceptable for the price range but the scrolling was smoother than the latency during clicking.
Wireless Connectivity
The Mi Portable Wireless Mouse has great reception and really works from a long-range if you are on one end of your room and the laptop / PC is on the other end, it still works. Also, setting up the mouse for the first time is very easy, it hardly takes less than a minute to set up and after that, it works like a charm, there’s almost delay in response after switching off and then turning on the device.
Battery Life & Portability
Xiaomi claims the battery life to be of 12 months with a single AA battery, which is hard to test honestly. But I did notice one thing that if you do not use a new battery you might notice the mouse to be unresponsive sometimes but again with a restart it works again fine.
This mouse is a very compact and lightweight, making it easier to carry around, but do keep in mind, because of this it might slip from your hand easily.
Xiaomi’s Mi Portable Wireless Mouse is great for those who do not want to spend more but need a decent wireless mouse for regular usage, strictly not recommended for gaming. Buy from here: https://amzn.to/2YjFvUA
This review was scheduled much before the Boycott Chinese products movement, so I respect each one’s choice. This review does not imply to oppose the movement but ultimately it’s your choice which product you want to buy.
