Mumbai Indians defeated Rajasthan Royals in a historic 1000th IPL match, and the game was indeed a historic one too, as MI became the first team ever to chase down a total above 200 in their home ground, i.e., the Wankhede Stadium. The game was indeed a treat to watch, as it was raining fours and sixes from wither teams, and a high-scoring thriller is always entertaining.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s incredible knock

Yashasvi Jaiswal played an incredible knock of 124 of 62 balls with a strike rate of 200, and his innings included 16 fours and eight sixes. Thanks to his knock, Rajasthan Royals were able to put up a mammoth total of 212 on the board with the loss of 7 wickets. However, without him, not a single batter was able to stand strong and eventually didn’t get the Indians to back down, but rather to fight back brilliantly and even win the match.

Performance by MI

As mentioned, MI’s greatest performance was to hold the other batsmen of RR back, while Jaiswal was hitting the balls. They didn’t let the fire happen from both the striker and got wickets from the other end at frequent intervals.

Coming to bat, the Indians didn’t have a good start as they lost the skipper Rohit Sharma early, and Ishan Kishan wasn’t able to play big either. However, Cameron Green started to turn things up with his 44-run 26 ball inning, and also, thanks to Suryakumar’s half-century, Mumbai Indians were able to cover a significant part during their run chase. And at the end, it was Tim David who hit 3 sixes in the last over to take MI home with the victory crown.

Though RR bowled well, however, the last over from Jason Holder wasn’t favorable as he gave consecutive full tosses, and David didn’t miss a chance.
