PSG visited Belgium to open their Champions League campaign last night, and to the delight of fans, we got our first glimpse of the Messi-Mbappe-Neymar front three starting the game.

The match ultimately ended up in a 1-1 draw, with both goals coming in the first half itself. PSG enjoyed the majority of possession, with the stats showing 63% in favour of the Parisians. But, despite having much more time on the ball, they were unable to get the job done away from home.

Brugge had more shots on target, and were on the front foot much more often than their opponents on the night. They had 16 efforts in total, 7 of which were on target. In contrast, PSG had 4 of 9 shots on target despite having the ball much more than the other team.

Ander Herrera’s goal opened the scoring for PSG 15 minutes into the game, but it was neutralised shortly after by Hans Vanakem before the half-hour mark. Kylian Mbappe struggled to produce his best after being tackled around the halfway line. The Frenchman required treatment, and was replaced 5 minutes into the second half by Mauro Icardi.

Noa Lang was one of the standout performers for Club Brugge, and he tested Keylor Navas several times throughout the match. His brilliant footwork also created a problem for the PSG defense throughout the game. Messi and Icardi had chances to take the lead in the later stages of the game, but were denied by Brugge, who played brilliantly to keep the scores level. ,
