The Argentine legend Lionel Messi has made his acting debut in the Argentine TV show ‘Los Protectors.’ It is a comedy-drama, and Messi has left the viewers impressed with his shocked appearance. Leo confirmed his move to Inter Miami earlier this month but is now making more headlines after his memorable appearance in the show. The show where Lionel Messi has debuted, Los Protectors, follows the journey of three football agents trying to escape bankruptcy and build their careers in a challenging industry.
In one of the scenes in the show, one of the agents proposes a ludicrous business deal to Messi which would see him play for different Argentinian football clubs each day in alphabetical order, potentially expanding to the rest of the world.
Unsurprisingly, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is unimpressed, saying: ‘Well, it seems that you are uneducated. How did you come to offer business to me here? You didn’t talk to me about this, did you? Why did you bring me here?’
The Role of Lionel Messi in the show
Lionel Messi is playing himself in the show as a person who thought he was attending the meeting to discuss a different project. Eventually, one of the other agents manages to calm down the Argentina captain, and they agree to run a scheme helping help young footballers from the nation who want to move to Europe. People can watch this show on Star+ and they can witness the cameo of the Argentine legend in the second season.
Though it is not sure whether Leo will act again in the future, or not but Messi has a different assignment on his hands as he is tasked with helping David Beckham’s Inter Miami off the foot of the MLS’ Eastern Conference.
