What Did Angelo Discover?

In episode 2, Angelo makes crucial progress investigating who tried to kill his daughter Maria. He uncovers the name “The Ferryman” — a mysterious hitman connected to both the attack on Maria and his wife’s killer. This revelation came from interrogating the sniper who shot at Maria and from Earl Hancock, the drunk driver responsible for his wife’s death.

Angelo’s investigative skills shine as he steals a bullet casing from the crime scene before police arrive. Through his gunsmith contact Belinda, he tracks down the shooter, Henry Bloch, revealing a deeper conspiracy targeting his family.

The Fatal Mistake: Maria’s Discovery

The episode’s biggest twist involves Angelo accidentally leaving a news clipping about one of his assassination targets in his jacket pocket. When Maria returns the jacket, she finds the article, searches the victim’s name online, and begins questioning her father’s involvement.

Neither father nor daughter directly confronts the truth, but Angelo realizes his memory issues are causing dangerous slip-ups that could expose his secret life.

FBI Agent Grant Enters the Game

Gina Torres joins the cast as FBI Agent Linda Grant in episode 2, and she’s already suspicious of Angelo. The producers hint that Grant has detected something unusual about Angelo and won’t let it go easily.

This adds another layer of tension as Angelo must now navigate threats from the criminal underworld, protect Maria, and evade FBI scrutiny — all while his Alzheimer’s symptoms worsen.

What’s Next for the Series?

The Ferryman’s identity remains the season’s central mystery. Executive producer Aaron Zelman teases that revealing who the Ferryman is and what they want will drive viewer interest throughout the season. The metaphorical name suggests someone who facilitates death — but their connection to Angelo’s past remains unclear.
