Cupertino giant, Apple is well known for its high-end iPhones and for their signature “MacBook” series. Recently they have launched the new MacBook Air 2018 with some new and cool features like Touch ID, Retina Display, and with the new macOS Mojave.
MacBook generation has seen some significant improvements over years and with no exception this year too, it has got some major changes and improvements. So, here is a quick overview of its specs:

MacBook Air 2018 as a whole
The new MacBook Air houses a 13.3-inch Retina Display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels with 16:10 aspect ratio, which seems pretty cool for a laptop.
With slimmer bezels and weighs just about 1.25 kg. Being 17 per cent lesser volume than previous MacBook Air, this one is just ideal enough to carry anywhere for any work purpose.
The base variant of the MacBook Air is powered by 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor paired with 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD storage space.
Though the exact name of the chipset has not been revealed by the Cupertino giant, Intel has confirmed that the new MacBook Air uses the Intel Core i5-8210Y processor. This amber lake processor is basically made for slim laptops with fanless design.
You can also opt in for another MacBook Air that comes with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1.5TB SSD storage.
The port options on this device, however, remains quite the same as previous. It packs in two USB Type-C ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The notebook for the first time features the Apple’s Touch ID for secure login.
As we all know, MacBooks do have great battery life, so, this one too is claimed to have a 12-hour battery life (depending on the type of use).
The new MacBook Air comes equipped with the butterfly switch keyboards with individually lit buttons. It also houses the new Force Touch trackpad, that is said to be 20 per cent larger than the one in the previous MacBook Air model.
Price & Availability
The base variant of the new MacBook Air 2018 has been priced at Rs. 1,14,900 in India. The 256GB SSD storage variant, on the other hand, bears a price tag of Rs. 1,34,900.
No official words have been uttered by Apple on its availability in India. But, it’s starting the journey from November 7 to tear down the US market. You can expect it to land to India by the end of this year.
Verdict
When you just have a quick overlook of the new MacBook Air 2018, you may feel it be much more slim, elegant and light. It has slimmer bezels around the corner and a gorgeous Retina display on top.
Secured by the new Touch ID and being powered by latest 8th gen Intel Core processors, it’s an ideal Mac for any Apple fan out there.
