Meesho and IISc Join Forces to Revolutionize the E-Commerce Industry with Generative AI

Meesho, India’s leading e-commerce marketplace, has signed a one-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Vision & AI Lab (VAL) of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to collaborate on generative AI and multimodal LLMs. This partnership aims to help Meesho develop cutting-edge technologies that will revolutionize the e-commerce industry.

Meesho collaborates with the Vision & AI Lab of IISc for joint research in the area of generative AI

Under the MoU, Meesho’s data scientists will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading lab researchers from IISc. Together, they will focus on multimodal representation learning and generative AI capabilities, with the aim of developing solutions that enhance the e-commerce experience for Meesho users. The research efforts could also result in the publication of exceptional research papers at reputable international conferences.

Generative AI and multimodal LLMs are becoming increasingly important in the e-commerce industry. These technologies can be used to create personalized customer experiences, enhance online retail operations, and generate realistic and dynamic content. Meesho is a leading player in this field, and this collaboration will help the company stay at the forefront of innovation.

Commenting on the collaboration, Rajesh Kumar SA, Director of Data Science at Meesho, said, “E-commerce is undergoing a tremendous shift that is being fueled by innovative thinking and technology.
