MediaTek Dimensity 9400 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 4: Currently, Dimensity 9400 outperforms

Although the launch of MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is scheduled for Q4 of 2024, according to early rumors, it has been found that MediaTek Dimensity 9400 beats Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in many aspects as of now. Let’s get into more details for MediaTek Dimensity 9400 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

It is expected that Qualcomm and MediaTek would improve with their upcoming smartphone chipsets. AnTuTu 10 and Geekbench 6.1, two well-known benchmarking websites, have revealed the purported Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Dimensity 9400 from each of these chip makers. Their findings suggest that there will be a significant improvement in phone performance in the upcoming generation.

While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 continues to lead in single-core performance, it falls short in the multi-core Geekbench test (as it did with the 2023 processors as well). Now let’s switch to AnTuTu, where the MediaTek has an overall score 10% higher. A 7% better GPU score and a 12% higher CPU score are displayed in the breakdown.

The fact that MediaTek and Qualcomm are working hard to make their chipsets perform better than those of their rivals is fantastic. What consumers and flagship smartphone makers are ultimately vying for are powerful processors. Additionally, this might enable the possibility of running massive language models locally and playing games at the console level.
