MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC powered first phone to launch in 2022

Taiwan-based chipset maker, MediaTek announced the flagship Dimensity 9000 SoC last week and took a step ahead in the game with Qualcomm, which is set to launch the new Snapdragon SoC next week. The Dimensity 9000 will take on the Snapdragon 898, aka Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Multiple brands including Xiaomi, Redmi, and Realme were expected to launch phones with Dimensity 9000 in Q1 of 2022.

Now, a new report by MyDrivers has surfaced online which suggests the launch timeline of a smartphone carrying the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. This will be the first ever smartphone to be powered by the Dimensity 9000 and is expected to go official next year. To be specific, the device will launch sometime in February, 2022.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12 will be launching in China on December 12, 2021. This is expected to be the first smartphone to carry the upcoming Snapdragon 898 chipset. Another report suggests that the upcoming Redmi K50 Gaming series of smartphones could feature the brand new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset.

The Dimensity 9000 is the world’s first smartphone processor based on a 4nm process. The ISP also supports 8K30fps video recording and 4K120fps video recording. In terms of connectivity options, there is Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6E 2×2.
