New rumors regarding the highly-anticipated MediaTek mobile chips have just surfaced online, as per the leak, the possible launch timeline for the Dimensity has come up along with the specs of the smartphone that is expected to feature the Dimensity 8000.
The information arrives from reputed tipster Digital Chat Station who has said that the premium flagship-level chip, the Dimensity 9000 will be launched sometime in the first half of this year. In addition to that, the new chip is expected to appear on two or three more smartphone models, which will in all likelihood have a 2K display.
The tipster further adds that some of these new smartphones will feature a dual primary camera setup on the rear as well. For those in the dark, the chip in question is based on the 4nm process from TSMC and it features ARM’s Cortex X2 super core, along with Cortex A710 high performance, and the Cortex A510 power-efficient cores.
For now, we are not sure which exact models will feature the new chip, but Redmi and Oppo have confirmed that their upcoming handset, the Find, and K50 Series respectively will be powered by the Dimensity 9000.
This chip even offers numerous improvements in terms of photography, so the dual primary camera module would take advantage of this improvement. The tipster also revealed more interesting information about the Dimensity 8000 chip which is also set to launch next year.
As per the tipster, a Dimensity 8000 powered smartphone will feature a 6.6″ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and will have 12GB of RAM. In terms of photography, the device will come with a 16MP selfie shooter while there is a triple camera setup on the rear.
This includes a 50MP primary sensor paired with another 50MP sensor and a 2MP shooter as well. This model will release during the Spring Festival and it will be priced around Yuan 2,000 or 23,300 INR. We can expect it to be an upper mid-range handset, since this is an unconfirmed report, take it with a grain of salt.
