When questioned if he should have more control over transfers at Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino remained silent due to concerns about Conor Gallagher’s future.

When asked whether he had any power to keep Gallagher at Stamford Bridge, the Argentine responded, “I am the coach; that needs to be in my place.”

With 14 months remaining on his current deal, Gallagher’s future has been much discussed. However, he has scored four goals in five games, including the game-winning goal in the closing seconds of Wednesday’s pivotal 3-2 victory against Leeds.

The victory reduced the burden on Chelsea and Pochettino since winning the FA Cup keeps them in the running to win silverware and earn a spot in the Europa League.

Nonetheless, Pochettino was limited to saying, “I cannot be involved in this,” when discussing Gallagher’s retention. The only person who can seal the deal is Conor and the club.

When questioned about his lack of involvement, he responded, “I know my place.”

When questioned whether his opinion should be heard in this case and whether the managers of the other major English teams would be excluded from similar decisions, he continued to respond with “no comment.”

The supporters have taken a strong liking to the midfield player and have pleaded with him to stay. Before approving a transfer, the board must take into account not only the pure profit he represents for the PNS rules as an academy player, but also his popularity and value to the team.
