‘Mauka Mauka’ Ad Returns for Iconic India vs Pakistan ICC T20 World Cup Clash
With less than a month remaining for the iconic India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC T20 World Cup, the famous ‘Mauka Mauka’ ad is back. Star Sports has once again revived the beloved characters from the ad as both teams prepare to battle fiercely for the ICC Trophy.
Ahead of this mega blockbuster match, the official broadcasters, Star Sports Network, have released a special promo to highlight the significance of the encounter. The Mauka Mauka advertisement has entertained audiences over the years by showcasing how India has consistently beaten their arch-rivals in the tournament.
To date, India has emerged victorious on six occasions, while Pakistan has won only once, in 2021. In 2024, the excitement for the clash is at its peak. The two sides are set to face off on June 9th at Nassau County Stadium in New York. This is the first edition of the T20 World Cup featuring as many as 20 teams.
Is India vs Pakistan The Greatest Event in Sports History?
While opinions may vary, for Indian and Pakistani fans, this is the game that matters most. The rivalry between these two nations is unparalleled, as is the banter between their teams. The Mauka Mauka ad perfectly captures the playful spirit of this intense rivalry.
“The thing in World Cups is that India has something special, that no matter how well Pakistan performs and plays, and however great our team is, in the World Cup, India always wins. The previous records suggest that Pakistan has performed better in World Cups against all teams but has only won once versus India at the World Cups, which happened in Dubai,” said Misbah-ul-Haq.
“It’s such a great feeling that you would dream of, to get the World Cup trophy in our hands. Even if it was the T20 format, it was the first time, and when you get it in your hands, the feeling is something else. There are some moments in your life that define you, and there was no greater feeling than that World Cup trophy being in our hands. I thank Misbah also because if he didn’t get out, we wouldn’t have won!” added Harbhajan Singh.
After a 2-1 series win against Ireland, the Pakistan Cricket Team will travel to England to play another four T20I matches. This is crucial for the Men in Green as they continue their preparation for the tournament. Meanwhile, the first batch of the Indian team will fly to the USA on May 24th, with the remainder traveling after May 26th.
Warm-Up Matches for T20 World Cup 2024 Announced
India will face Bangladesh in their sole warm-up match before the T20 World Cup 2024. Out of the 20 teams in the tournament, only Pakistan, England, and New Zealand will skip warm-up games prior to the league stage, which begins on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced 16 warm-up matches and their venues on Thursday, May 16. These matches will not have international status, and teams will be allowed to use all 15 squad members.
India’s warm-up match against Bangladesh is scheduled for June 1 in the USA, though the venue has not been disclosed. Indian players are expected to arrive in the USA only after the IPL final, set for May 26. India will play Ireland in their first group-stage match on June 5 in New York, followed by a highly anticipated match against Pakistan on June 9.
