2018’s hugely-successful hit game Spider-Man is now coming to Play Station 5. The game will be the remastered version of the Play Station 4 title, and it will also contain the DLC Spider-Man: Miles Morales. If you have purchased Spider-Man for PS4 and want to play the remastered edition in the PS5, unfortunately, you will not be able to carry the save games from PS4 to PS5.
A fan in Twitter asked Insomniac Games whether Marvel’s Spider-Man saves will carry over from PS4 to PS5 or not. On reply Insomniac Games, the developer of the game twitted and confirmed that not it will not. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered is treated by developers as an entirely new release with new features like ray-tracing, faster loading, and support for the DualSense controller’s new haptic feedback.
There are now question arising on the PS5’s backward compatibility with PS4 games. As we know that PS5 will be 99% backward compatible with the PS4 titles Sony has tested on it so far, but Sony hasn’t clarified which games won’t work just yet.
Sony clarified that we will be able to play 18 classic PS4 games on PS5 and for it, the only requirement is to have a PS Plus subscription. But it’s still unclear that by which mode the PS5 user can play the PS4 game i.e. either disc or download versions of those games on PS5. Moreover, whether the previous saves of the game will carry over or not.
According to the developer of the game, if you are buying the PS5 Deluxe Edition which has a disc drive, you won’t be able to get a physical version of Spider-Man Remastered on its own, as it will be available as a part of Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition.
