Key Ending Elements	What Happened

Friends’ Status	Kate and Riri seem alive and well
The Truth Revealed	Riri breaks through the illusion
Reality Check	Zombies still control the world

Did Ms. Marvel Actually Save Anyone?

The heartbreaking truth? No, Kamala didn’t save the universe. Instead, Zombie Wanda has taken over the planet, and the zombies still roam the planet, wreaking havoc wherever they go in Marvel Zombies season 1.

Here’s what really happened:

The Illusion Trap “And so the world begins again,” Wanda says, and Kamala wakes up in her bed, at home, in New Jersey. Not only that, but Kate and Riri are alive, and they get boba. Everything seems perfect – too perfect.

Riri’s Warning Right at the end of the show, Riri warns Kamala that nothing she’s seeing is real, and we see Riri battling more zombies. This moment shatters the peaceful facade Wanda created.

Ironheart: The Real Hero of Season 1

While Kamala gets trapped in Wanda’s psychological prison, Riri Williams emerges as the season’s true survivor. The season finale confirms that Riri is very much alive. After FRIDAY, the AI operating the Iron Man armor, saves Kamala in episode 1, FRIDAY turns to her to claim she will never let another host behind.

Why Riri Matters:

She’s the only one fighting the real battle
Her connection to FRIDAY keeps her grounded in reality
She’s actively trying to wake Kamala from the illusion
Sets up potential storylines for Season 2

Wanda’s Master Plan Explained

Scarlet Witch didn’t just want to eliminate the zombie threat – she wanted complete control. She was able to take down a powerful team of heroes and the Hulk, even though he had the power of the Infinity Stones.

Wanda’s Strategy:

Defeat Earth’s Mightiest Heroes ✓
Obtain the Infinity Stones ✓
Create a false paradise for survivors ✓
Maintain zombie control over reality ✓

What This Means for Season 2

The cliffhanger ending sets up incredible possibilities for future episodes. There are either two things that happened here: Wanda didn’t restore her world to normal like she promised Kamala and allowed the zombies to run free, all while placing Kamala in this dream in order to distract her.

Potential Season 2 Storylines:

Kamala’s escape from Wanda’s mental prison
Riri leading a real resistance movement
Multiverse connections to other zombie realities
The truth about FRIDAY’s survival protocols

The Verdict: A Masterclass in Subversion

Marvel Zombies Season 1 didn’t just deliver gore and action – it crafted a psychological thriller that questions the nature of victory itself. By trapping Kamala in a perfect illusion while leaving Riri to face harsh reality, the series explores themes of hope, delusion, and survival.
