Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has officially been delayed and will now release in early 2026, missing its initially planned 2025 launch window. Developer Skydance confirmed the delay, explaining that the additional time spent working on the game will enable the team to add even more polish to it so that it lives up to their vision for the project. While some fans may be disheartened to hear this, the studio says they will have some exciting news for all players soon.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Delayed to 2026; Features Captain America, Black Panther & WWII Paris
During the World War II era, the game tells an original story written by Amy Hennig of Uncharted fame and adapted by her team at Skydance New Media. It follows the unlikely team-up between Captain America and Black Panther as they free Nazi-occupied Paris. Two heroes turned enemies early in their interaction, as the King of Wakanda finds tension with the young Steve Rogers. The story also features two other playable characters: Howling Commando soldier Gabriel Jones and Wakandan spy in Paris, Nanali.
This Captain America is a younger Steve Rogers, and Black Panther is Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather, who takes up the mantle during this era. It’s made with Unreal Engine 5, so it looks good, and the facial animations, powered by MetaHuman Animator, are realistic. This technology is designed to add realism to performances and dramatic moments by bringing you closer to the action.
The voice cast also features Drew Moerlein as Steve Rogers, Khary Payton as Azzuri, Marque Richardson as Gabriel Jones, Megalyn Echikunwoke as Nanali, and Joel Johnstone as Howard Stark. First revealed in 2022, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is part of Marvel’s expanding slate of video games, which also includes upcoming titles from EA and Arkane Lyon, such as Blade, Iron Man, Black Panther, and an unannounced project.
