What Happened in Episode 2?

Episode 2, Zone of Death, threw Kayce straight into the deep end on his first official day as a U.S. Marshal. While tracking down a drug operation, the team discovered the gangs were trading narcotics for a homemade bomb — turning a routine bust into something far more dangerous. Kayce chased suspects into the Zone of Death, stopped the attack, and eliminated one of the criminals in the process. Meanwhile, Kayce returned home to find his son Tate informing him of a memorial ceremony being planned by his maternal grandfather for Monica — still clutching Monica’s locket, still clearly grieving.

What to Expect in Episode 3

The aftermath of the Zone of Death operation is set to play out in Episode 3, with growing questions about whether Kayce’s actions — specifically the kill in the Zone — will have legal or political consequences for the task force. Tensions between Kayce and the sceptical Marshal Harry Gifford (Brett Cullen) are expected to escalate further, as Gifford continues to question whether a man with the Dutton family’s complicated history belongs in federal law enforcement.

Tate’s storyline is also expected to develop, with Kayce having promised his son that his own fresh start is coming — even if it hasn’t arrived yet.
