Marseille have completed the signing of Ismaila Sarr from Watford in a €13 million plus add-ons deal. The player has signed a five-year contract with the club, and becomes the latest new addition to the French club in an attempt to build on their past season.

In 22/23, they finished third in Ligue 1, 12 points behind title winners PSG. They have made it to the Champions League qualification stages, and will be engaged in a play-off to determine whether they make it to the group stages of Europe’s top flight.

This past season in the Championship, Ismaila Sarr scored 10 goals and provided seven assists as the Hornets finished eleventh in the second tier of England.

On the back of their failure to make it back to the Premier League, they have had to part ways with two of their top attackers. Alongside Sarr, Joao Pedro has also left the club to sign for Brighton as the club record signing for the Seagulls.

The 25-year-old has become the latest addition for the club, after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Chelsea, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Renan Lodi from Atletico Madrid.

Marseille have also appointed Marcelino as their new head coach for the coming season. And it will be interesting to see how they fare, especially with the new signings that have come into the club.
