Marcelo Brozovic has agreed a contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr and will be joining them from Inter Milan. The two clubs have agreed a transfer fee worth €18-19 million for the Croatia international, and the medical tests will take place in the coming days to finalise the transfer.
The midfielder attracted interest from Barcelona for a transfer as well, but the Spanish side were unable to match the transfer fee. As a result, Al Nassr had a free run at the player and have now reached an agreement to sign him.
Al Nassr reach agreement with Marcelo Brozovic for massive contract
The midfielder has agreed a three-year contract with the Saudi club until 2026, and will receive €100 million as part of the total deal. The club matched all the demands that the player placed in front of them and is now set to make the surprise move.
The 30-year-old has been one of the most important players for Inter over the last few seasons. And after missing out on the Champions League title, he has decided to try a new challenge away from Europe.
What’s even more surprising with regards to the transfer is that Marcelo Brozovic extended his contract with Inter only a year ago. His current deal runs until 2026, but he has decided to move on to sign for Al Nassr as part of their massive spending spree this summer.
Marcelo Brozovic to be replaced by Davide Frattesi at Inter
The Nerazzurri have identified Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi as the best option to replace Marcelo Brozovic. The Italian has attracted interest from several clubs across the country, but is yet to agree anything with any club.
Inter have been leading the race so far and are planning to invest the money they get from the Brozovic deal into signing Frattesi. An official bid will be made to Sassuolo once the Croatian has completed his move to Al Nassr in the coming days.
