Manuel Neuer has extended his contract with Bayern Munich until 2024. The extension has been confirmed by the German giants on their official website, and will see the goalkeeper play until the age of 38.

Alongside Thomas Muller, the Germany international becomes the second veteran to continue his stay in Bavaria with a new contract.

Here is what the player had to say about his new deal with the club: “I’m very pleased that my journey continues at FC Bayern. We’ll have a very good team again with which we can play for every title. As a goalkeeper, captain and leader, I want to be the support and a key factor in our big goals. We want to extend our title record and compete again for the DFB Cup and Champions League.”

With Bayern Munich, Manuel Neuer has won 10 Bundesliga titles, five DFB Pokals, two Champions League trophies in 472 appearances for the club.

He has also earned 109 caps for the Germany national team, and helped win the 2014 World Cup with them. He is among the best goalkeepers of his generation, and has helped build a defense that is feared at Bayern. His presence behind the backline has helped the team continue on a decade of dominance in the Bundesliga, and hopefully, he can help them maintain it in the coming years.
