Manchester United will be in the transfer market for a new centre-back during the summer transfer window. The Reds have been decent this season, but have bottled games time and time again, with Harry Maguire in need of a decent partner.
Raphael Varane is the main target for the club this summer, and so the situation with Real Madrid will be key. The Frenchman only has one year remaining on his current deal, and is not negotiating with Real regarding an extension.
Keeping to Spain, Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde is also in the shortlist for the club should a move for Varane not go through. They are also keeping tabs on Atalanta’s Cristian Romero, and while he is not the first choice, he is appreciated.
United have also been linked with Jadon Sancho for the second season straight, and Borussia Dortmund will sell him if an important bid around €85-100 million arrives. Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested, but will have to sell some big players to accumulate the funds needed to fund the transfer.
Kamaldeen Sulemana is also another one of the names being linked with a move to Old Trafford, but no official bid. Ajax, on the other hand, have made contact and have already been turned down.
