Manchester United had an interview with Ajax head coach Erik Ten Hag for the vacant manager position in the recent few days. One of the main obstacles behind Ten Hag’s consideration earlier was his English proficiency.
But, the Manchester United officials were reportedly content with the level of English the Dutchman could speak. They are now confident that he can communicate effectively enough to manage the first team.
His philosophy and style of management are very appreciated by the board, which makes him one of the frontrunners to become the permanent manager next season.Â

Erik Ten Hag is one among the list of potential candidates to be the permanent successor to Ralf Rangnick. The German will take up the role of advisor to the club, and will be more focused on recruitment when his spell as interim manager ends.
And considering United’s problems on and off the pitch, a strong figure is needed at the club to rebuild the team. And Ten Hag is one of the names that has been strongly linked to take up the job. However, Manchester United are not finalising his appointment just yet. They are looking at other candidates as well, and are in no rush.
During the interview, Ten Hag inquired about the club’s project and their transfer budget for new players. The manager also feels that he is ready to test himself in the Premier League after a very successful spell with Ajax.
