Barcelona's top defensive target is Eric Garcia, while Man City already makes alternative signing

The La Masia product has declined to renew his contract at the club which Pep openly admitted. Also, it’s no brainer that his next possible destination is Barcelona, so the club has set a price tag on him of €23 million according to Diario Sport.

The 19-year old is a highly rated young defender who can be a great addition to Barca’s weak defense, especially after Umtiti’s injury problems. The club wants to bring in Garcia and now having known the price tag, the Blaugranas have a decision to make this summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola wants Eric Garcia and is confident that Barcelona cannot snatch him

García’s contract expires at Manchester City at the end of 2020-21 season, after which he could be a free agent. But, the Spaniard wants to return to Barcelona this summer and the price tag is quite justified but the problem is with the club’s financial situation.

Cashing on Eric García will be fruitful for Barcelona as well if they can get rid of Samuel Umtiti and other players to strike a balance in the squad. Tha Blaugranas need to reshuffle quite a lot this summer and raise some funds to make the proper signings this time, except going big for Lautaro.

The 19-year old player is in radar for various clubs across Europe and now having know the price tag, FC Barcelona should face some competition. So, bringing a player like García’s calibre is very important for the Catalan giants and the board should focus on that this summer.
