The Mahindra Thar 5 Door will come available with three engine options a 1.5L Diesel engine with RWD and manual gearbox rumoured around ₹12 lakh (Ex-showroom), competing with the Scorpio N’s base variant priced at ₹13.85 lakh (Ex-showroom). In addition, the Thar 5 Door will incorporate the current Thar models’ 2.0L Turbo Petrol and 2.2L Diesel engines. The specifications of these engines on the Thar 5 Door have not been confirmed. Two rivals for the Thar ROXX in 2024 will be the Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny which could compete with it.
