Andre Onana is on the transfer market for Ajax, and the player has been offered to numerous European clubs. Olympique Lyon are the latest team to throw their name in the hat for the pursuit of the goalkeeper.
According to renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the French club have reached an agreement on personal terms with the player. But while the individual details like contract length and value are not a deal, they are yet to reach an agreement with Ajax regarding the transfer fee.
Inter are also interested in signing him in June 2022 if he ends up staying at Ajax this season. However, they will only pursue the keeper if they can sign him as a free agent next summer. But with the looks of the suitors he is attracting this summer, it is unlikely that he will be available next year.
Arsenal were previously rumoured to be interested in the player, but their pursuit seems to have died down. Lyon are now trying their best to push hard and reach an agreement with Ajax regarding the transfer of the player.
Onana came through the Barcelona academy before joining Ajax in 2015. He has been with the Dutch champions ever since, and has also racked up 18 caps for the Cameroon national team. The player currently has a doping ban across all competitions and will last until November 4, when the season is well underway.
