Luis Diaz to Liverpool: Deal in final stages worth €65m

Liverpool are all set to sign Luis Diaz from Porto in the coming hours, after failing to sign him in the summer. Porto have received an official bid from the Merseysiders for the player, which is valued at €65 million in total.

Of that fee, €40 million is guaranteed and a sum up to €25 million has been agreed in the form of add-ons. The deal is entering its final stages, and we can expect a confirmation from the two clubs about the transfer soon, once a total agreement has been reached

Liverpool close to finalising Luis Diaz signing

Jurgen Klopp’s team was in the race for Luis Diaz in the summer as well, but they failed to complete the deal. With Tottenham stepping up their interest to land the forward, Liverpool have decided to end their wait and complete the signing as soon as possible.

Diaz is currently on national team duty with Colombia, and arrangements for a medical assessment to be held in South America itself are being made. The transfer deadline is just around the corner, and Liverpool need to complete the signing soon.

The Colombian striker will be their first, and seemingly only signing of the January transfer window, in an attempt to help them in the battle for the Premier League title. They are the only legitimate title contenders remaining alongside Manchester City, and will need all the firepower they can get to challenge for the league.
