Love on the Menu: Ha Seok Jin Steps In to Mend a Broken Heart on Hani’s Behalf — A Preview That Will Tug at Your Heartstrings

KBS 2TV’s tender family drama “Love on the Menu” just dropped new stills ahead of its next episode, and the emotional stakes couldn’t be higher. As a young boy’s closed-off heart hangs in the balance, one adult’s quiet act of kindness might just be the turning point this fractured family needs.

Love on the Menu: The Story So Far

“Love on the Menu” follows Kim Moo Jin (Ha Seok Jin) and Han Gyu Rim (Hani), former lovers who reunite eight years after a painful breakup, only to find themselves piecing together their broken families together. It’s the kind of slow-burn healing drama that thrives on small, meaningful gestures rather than big dramatic reveals.

In the previous episode, Han Gyu Rim clashed painfully with her younger sister while fighting to protect her son, Han Gyeol. When Han Gyeol sought refuge with Kim Moo Jin instead of going home, Kim Moo Jin noticed Han Gyu Rim crying just from the sound of her voice on the phone — and without hesitation, told her he was coming right away.

What’s Coming in the Next Episode

A Mother’s Quiet Heartbreak

New stills show Han Gyu Rim on the verge of tears as her son continues refusing to come home. Rather than pushing harder, she quietly packs his belongings herself — a small but devastating gesture of maternal love. It’s the kind of understated emotional beat that Korean family dramas often use to convey grief without dialogue.

Kim Moo Jin Steps In

Meanwhile, Kim Moo Jin takes it upon himself to speak honestly with Han Gyeol, offering the boy the warmth and reassurance his mother currently can’t deliver in person. It’s a meaningful moment that underscores his role as an emotional bridge between the fractured mother and son — something Hani’s character clearly can’t do alone right now.

The Han Family Drama Intensifies

Elsewhere, tensions boil over as Han Gyu Young lashes out over her sister’s sacrifices, prompting twin siblings Han Gyu Seo and Han Gyu Min to confront her directly. Adding another unexpected layer, Go Yoon Hee’s current and ex-husbands end up sharing an oddly tense meal together, with one bursting into tears — a scene the production team teases will reveal surprising new complications for the family.
