Lionel Messi is being strongly linked with an exit from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The forward is out of a contract with them at the end of the season, and has not agreed to a renewal as of yet.

He had a verbal agreement with the board to continue before the World Cup. But the two parties were not able to iron out the details of the sporting project in order to finalise a deal. Messi has been linked with a return to his former club, Barcelona, while an offer from Saudi Arabia is also materialising.

The Argentine recently travelled to Saudi Arabia to complete his duties as ambassador without taking permission from PSG. And as a result, the club has decided to suspend him from playing and team training for two weeks. An official statement is not expected as of yet, but the suspension will stand.

The Gulf state have reportedly made the biggest financial offer ever made to a footballer, even before the situation with PSG. And his entourage are taking it seriously, with a move to Saudi Arabia possible for him this summer. A move to David Beckham’s MLS side, Inter Miami, is also an option for Lionel Messi.

But if Cristiano Ronaldo does not leave Al-Nassr, he could be facing his former nemesis again if he makes the move this summer.
