Messi’s remarkable victory earned him global admiration, and fans in Kerala have long awaited the chance to see their idol in action.

Speaking at an event in Kozhikode, Kerala’s Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman confirmed the visit, saying:

Confirmed Dates for Argentina’s Visit

The Argentine National Team will arrive in Kochi on October 25, 2025, and will stay in Kerala until November 2, 2025. They will play two international friendlies during this period, with venues likely to be announced soon.

While the exact opponents are yet to be confirmed, this will mark Lionel Messi’s second visit to India, following Argentina’s 1-0 victory over Venezuela in Kolkata’s Salt Lake Stadium back in 2011.

Will Argentina Bring Their Main Squad?

The Argentine Football Association has officially confirmed Messi’s participation, which has sent excitement soaring among Indian fans. However, there is some speculation about whether the full strength squad will travel.

• FIFA’s International Breaks: According to FIFA’s 2025 calendar, international windows are from October 6-14 and November 10-18, which means the visit falls outside these windows.
• Clubs’ Participation: Many Argentine players currently play in Europe’s top leagues, making it uncertain whether clubs will release them for matches outside FIFA-sanctioned windows.

Regardless, the chance to see Lionel Messi, the GOAT of football, in action is reason enough for celebration!
