Twitter‘s newly appointed CEO, Linda Yaccarino, took to social media on Saturday to share her excitement about the chance to improve the company and create a better future. Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, named Yaccarino as the company’s new CEO on Friday. Since making a $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in October of last year, Musk had been looking for a new CEO for the ailing social media network.
Everything about the Twitter’s New CEO!
Yaccarino joins the social media giant from NBCUniversal, a Comcast Corp. company where she was the head of advertising and spent years modernizing the company’s advertising operations. She is dedicated to the social media platform’s future and has said that user input is crucial in creating “Twitter 2.0.”
“I notice I have a few new fans. Even while I’m not as active on Twitter as @elonmusk (yet!), I’m just as dedicated to the platform’s development. Your opinions are ESSENTIAL to that future. “I’m present for everything. Let’s continue the discussion and create Twitter 2.0 together”, she wrote in another tweet.
Due to its significant debt burden and other issues, the company has been seeing a fall in its ad revenue, and it has been challenging to stop this trend. Due to worries that their advertisements would be displayed next to offensive content, advertisers have been reluctant to use the platform since Musk acquired the business. Musk has acknowledged that platform’s ad revenue has dropped significantly and is working to reverse this.
Though Musk has discussed creating an “everything app” with a range of services, including peer-to-peer payments, Yaccarino’s selection as an advertising veteran suggests that digital ads will still be the company’s primary area of concentration. As the CEO of Tesla as well, Musk has said that Yaccarino’s appointment will free up more time for him to focus on Tesla. The secret to changing Twitter’s woes may lie in Yaccarino’s vision and expertise in modernizing ad firms.
