Light of Motiram will be released on PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and PC, and you can check out an official announcement trailer for the game below. This game heavily borrows visual elements from another open-world title in Guerrilla Game’s Horizon Zero Dawn. Also, we’ve got a “hair of fire” female protagonist; we’ve got an open and post-apocalyptic world; we’ve got beast-like machines proliferating. Epic boss battles require skill and timing, just like in Horizon Zero Dawn.

It could potentially also cause other intellectual property questions to be raised than Palworld, which was further away from being a Pokémon clone (and was sued by Nintendo). Whether Sony would pursue legal action, given that the game is being made by Polaris Quest, a subsidiary of Tencent, is unknown, but we shall see.

Light of Motiram does, however, offer some distinct gameplay mechanics not seen in either Horizon Zero Dawn or Forbidden West. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the game is heavily based on survival and crafting. Players will need to overcome savage landscapes, and unbearable conditions and fight dangerous Mechanimals using the materials available to survive and take on formidable bosses. Among the best aspects of the game is the freeform building system that lets players build the structure using realistic physics simulation.
Thanks to creative gameplay, players have the tools necessary to build shelters or fortresses that don’t just look nice but are tough enough to survive the environment. There are new taming and training mechanics, with over a hundred customizable Mechanimals that can be gathered and trained. Light of Motiram also features cooperative multiplayer, enabling players to join together for collaborative adventures with as many as ten companions. Coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store with cross-play, no release date has yet been announced.
