LG has finally confirmed the launch date of its new folding smartphone, the LG Wing. The arrival is scheduled for October 5, 2020. According to the insiders, the launch was supposed to be in the next two weeks, on September 25. But for some internal issues, the Korean manufacturer decided to postpone the LG Wing arrival with 10 more days.
So far, we have some rumors and leaks about this new upcoming smartphone from LG. As it will be a folding smartphone, the display will be undoubtedly top-notch and some of the tipsters have already shown us how the device would look like in real life.
Let’s first talk about the display. This phone will feature a 6.8-inch main display (an OLED panel with a 1080 x 2460 resolution), with a square-shaped secondary screen and 4” diagonal. This phone will run on Android 10 OS and will be powered by a Snapdragon 765G, coupled with 8 GB RAM. This is not quite sure if this phone will feature the fingerprint sensor on the main screen or the second screen too though.
There is nothing confirmed until now about the pricing of the flip phone. The initial pricing was supposed to be around KRW2 million (over $1,600/€1,400), the more realistic price tag is half of that.
According to the company, they will launch an official teaser of the LG Wing in the upcoming weeks. The company has announced that on Monday. The testing process will be followed by four weeks with selected users and when this is done, the official launch will take place. It is quite a very complicated way to bring a smartphone to the market. But the company has been doing that from the older releases too.
