Lee Min Ho’s “The Assassin(s)” Storms Past 1 Million Ticket Sales — And It’s Only Getting Started

Korean cinema just got a fresh box office champion. “The Assassin(s)”, headlined by Yoo Hae Jin, Park Hae Il, and global heartthrob Lee Min Ho, has crossed the coveted 1-million-viewer mark in record time — and audiences can’t seem to get enough.

A Blockbuster Debut Weekend

Released on September 23, the action-packed thriller didn’t just open strong — it dominated. The film held the No. 1 spot at the Korean box office for three consecutive days, a feat that signals genuine word-of-mouth momentum rather than a one-day opening spike.

According to the Korean Film Council, as of 7 a.m. KST on September 26, “The Assassin(s)” had officially pulled in 1,057,760 moviegoers — hitting the million mark in under four days. That’s the kind of pace that turns a good release into a certified hit.
