Several remarks have come from Joan Laporta regarding the situation in Barcelona ever since the Negreira Case has come to light.

Laporta says not to give Mr. Tebas the pleasure of him walking away as the Barcelona president

The Azulgrana president stated that the “technical consultations” as referring to the reports for which he paid Enriquez Negreira- are supported by “invoices and documentary and video support.” At least that’s evident with regard to the tenure when he was the head of the club for the first time.

Besides, he also went off on Javier Tebas, the La Liga president. Laporta insisted that the employers’ association leader is moved by his disliking for Barcelona. He said,

“The investigation has been outsourced and investigations are being carried out by an external lawyer. Always in coordination with compliance, they are doing an analysis. In such a way that the investigation is rigorous.

We deeply regret the leak of data and documents of a case that is under investigation in the prosecutor’s Office and that should have maximum custody. Even more so when neither the prosecutor’s Office nor the Police has informed the club that it is being investigated. ”

He further added that an internal investigation is ongoing and that they’re eager to provide explanations. They can hold a press conference to explain everything.

The two had controversies earlier

Laporta and Tebas have had conflicts in the past, and it seems that a whole new case is brewing up.

Laporta added,

Some had already warned us that it seemed Tebas was promoting a reputational campaign against Barcelona and against me. He has already taken off his mask. He continues with his obsession with Barcelona. With his phobia of our club. I remember he is a person who, in his career, has already demonstrated his animosity toward Barcelona. Already in 2005, as Vice President of Alaves, he already made a complaint because he did not want Messi to play for Barcelona.”

He even added that Tebas has the only intention of dominating Barcelona from a distance which he’s been doing in recent years.

“He has realized he can’t do that with me. I will not give Mr. Tebas the pleasure of stepping down as President of Barcelona. That is for the members to decide.”
