Mumbai City FC have confirmed that Lallianzuala Chhangte will be their captain for the coming season. The winger has established himself as a talismanic figure at the club, scoring 29 goals and providing 16 assists in 79 games since joining them in 2022.
He has been named the best player in Indian football for multiple seasons in a row as well, and now becomes the club captain after the departure of Rahul Bheke to Bengaluru FC.

The Islanders confirmed the decision with an official statement on their website. They will begin the new season with a visit to Salt Lake Stadium to face Mohun Bagan SG in a repeat of the final fixture of last year.
Chhangte will surely be leading from the front, with his numbers speaking for themselves. After winning the ISL Cup last season, the Sky Blues will be hungry to reclaim the shield after missing out by the smallest margin last season.
And it all begins at the spot where they lost the Shield, but won the Cup, against Mohun Bagan in Kolkata.
Which number does Chhangte wear for Mumbai City FC?
