The teams will now rest for the summer and will return to league action on the first matchday on Friday August 11, 2023.

The biggest clash in Spanish football now has a date for the coming season. Real Madrid and Barcelona will play each other for the first time on matchday 11, October 29 2023 at the Estadio Olimpico in Montjuic. It will be a home game for Barcelona, who have moved to the Olympic Stadium since Camp Nou is undergoing renovation.
The return leg of El Clasico 2023/24 will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu on April 21, 2024 which will be matchday 32. Such a clash late in the calendar will surely make things more interesting, especially if there are major stakes placed on the result of the big match.
This past season, Real Madrid and Barcelona won one La Liga El Clasico each. Los Blancos claimed the win the first time around, defeating their rivals 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu. The final day will promise to be a very entertaining finish to the league, with Sevilla-Barcelona, Real Madrid-Real Betis and Real Sociedad-Atletico Madrid scheduled for matchday 38.
No games will be played on December 31, as has been the case over the last two campaigns. Moreover, La Liga will go on winter break for the coming season between December 22 and January 1.
