KRAFTON, Inc. has stirred excitement in the gaming world with its latest mobile title, Dark and Darker Mobile, developed by Bluehole Studio. The game made a remarkable debut at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany, drawing over 10,000 participants in just three days—a significant achievement for a mobile game in a market traditionally dominated by PC and console platforms.

An Impressive Presence at Gamescom

The Dark and Darker Mobile booth was one of the highlights of Gamescom 2024, offering one of the largest interactive experiences at the event. With 90 hands-on stations featuring smartphones, tablets, and laptops, attendees had ample opportunity to dive into the game. KRAFTON expanded its reach by partnering with Samsung Electronics and TikTok to provide an additional 30 demo stations across three halls, totalling 120 stations available for gamers to explore.

Breaking Barriers in the European Market

By engaging over 10,000 participants within three days, KRAFTON has demonstrated that mobile games can indeed captivate European gamers. Attendees praised the game’s engaging manual controls, diverse character classes, and impressive graphics. The positive feedback has heightened anticipation for its official release later this year.

A Themed Experience

The game’s booth, inspired by the “Forgotten Castle” dungeon, provided an immersive experience that built upon the success of its “Goblin Cave” themed booth at G-STAR 2023 in Korea. Beyond gameplay demos, the booth offered daily quiz shows and cosplay events, rewarding participants with themed merchandise such as wizard hats, capes, tavern-themed mugs, and limited-edition board games. The sight of attendees wearing wizard hats throughout the event highlighted the game’s burgeoning popularity.

Influencer Engagement and Visibility

The booth attracted numerous influencers, including European stars like Lara Loft and Zizaran. Over 10 influencers participated in demos and live-streamed their experiences, significantly boosting the game’s visibility. Their presence, along with impromptu fan meetings, added to the buzz surrounding Dark and Darker Mobile.
