There was a conference held today in China regarding The 2020 Chongqing Micro-LED Industry Innovation Forum and Konka Semiconductor Display Technology. At the end of this event, Konka has unveiled the world’s first Micro-LED watch. The main highlight of this device is that it has a battery life of a freaking 35 days. Let’s get into a detailed check-up of this device.
As per the reports, Konka’s smartwatch is the world’s first micro-LED watch that uses a 2-inch microcrystalline screen with a glass substrate of 0.12mm. The chip size of this device is less than 30um. That’s why it is said to be a micro-LED product. Moreover, for a great display effect, the display driver of this device uses the most advanced active low-temperature polysilicon semiconductor display technology.
The display screen of this watch can reach a maximum brightness of 1500nit. As per the reports, the color gamut of this watch can reach 147% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and the working temperature of it can reach-30 to 70 degrees. As mentioned earlier, it has a massive battery life of 35 days.
MicroLED displays have a similarity with regular OLED panels as both use self-emission backlight, which is different from traditional LCD displays. That’s why, the user can experience a great display in it with very high contrast, extremely deep blacks, and fast response time, similar to the regular OLED. However, Micro-LEDs has some extra advantages, such has it has higher brightness and more stability than regular OLEDs because of their inorganic nature.
