Why Kong Skull Island 2 Hasn’t Happened Yet

Skull Island didn’t crack the global top 10 after its debut, featuring in the daily top 10s in 47 countries for just 15 days before dropping out entirely — staying in the US top 10 for only 5 days.
Duffield himself put it bluntly in May 2024: “Scripts are all done and I hope it sees the light at some point — think we got unlucky with timing and story changes in the bigger ‘Verse.” The issue?
