King100: Nagarjuna’s 100th Film Set to Roar Into Theatres This December

Nagarjuna Akkineni is gearing up for one of the biggest milestones of his career — his 100th film, tentatively titled King100. And if the latest buzz is anything to go by, fans won’t have to wait until next year’s Sankranti season to watch it. The film may now arrive in theatres this December itself. What’s the Buzz About?

According to reports, King100 was originally expected to hit screens around Sankranti 2027. But recent updates suggest the makers are eyeing a December 2026 release instead — a significant shift that has excited fans who’ve been tracking Nagarjuna Akkineni‘s illustrious four-decade career in Indian cinema.

If this release timeline holds, King100 will land in the middle of a stacked Telugu box office season, going head-to-head with Prabhas’s Fauzi and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s NBK111 — both also rumored for a December-end release.

A Milestone Wrapped in Nostalgia

Adding extra emotional weight to the announcement is the timing: Nagarjuna turns 67 on August 29, 2026, and the makers have confirmed that the film’s first glimpse will drop on his birthday. It’s a fitting way to celebrate both the actor’s milestone birthday and his milestone 100th film in one go.

Directed by Ra Karthik, King100 is being described by Nagarjuna himself as a “complete commercial entertainer,” centered around a father-daughter relationship. Adding to the intrigue, reports suggest the film will use de-aging technology to portray Nagarjuna across different life stages — from his mid-20s to his 60s.

Cast Buzz: A 28-Year Reunion?

Perhaps the most talked-about angle of King100 is the rumored casting of Tabu in a antagonist role — marking a reunion with Nagarjuna nearly three decades after they last shared the screen. Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sushmita Bhatt, and Vijayendra are also expected to join the cast in key roles, though official confirmations are still awaited.

Why It Matters

A 100th-film milestone is rare in Indian cinema, and Nagarjuna joins an elite list of actors to reach this mark. Combined with a competitive December release window and a much-hyped on-screen reunion, King100 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Telugu films of the year.
