Killing Time: A Blood-Soaked Play Button Just Confirmed K-Horror’s Scariest Release This October

/If you thought livestreaming culture couldn’t get any more nerve-wracking, wait until you see “Killing Time.” Ryu Hye Young and Nam Yoon Su’s upcoming thriller has just locked in its October theatrical release, and the newly unveiled poster alone is enough to send a chill down your spine.

This isn’t your average K-thriller. It taps directly into our collective obsession — and anxiety — around livestreaming culture, turning the pursuit of viral content into a literal fight for survival.

What’s “Killing Time” Actually About?

The story follows an internet broadcasting crew, aptly named “Killing Time,” known for chasing sensational, boundary-pushing content. Their world collapses when one member dies during a live stream. Rather than stepping back, the crew doubles down — heading into an abandoned hospital for their comeback broadcast, only to be hunted by a mysterious entity with no mercy in its arsenal.

It’s a premise that blends horror-thriller tension with a sharp, timely commentary on internet fame culture, something the found-footage and livestream horror subgenre has increasingly leaned into worldwide.

The Poster That’s Already Creating Buzz

The newly released poster is deliberately unsettling: a shattered, blood-drenched play button sits at the center of a black screen, framed by a video playback bar — as if you’ve stumbled onto someone’s live broadcast in real time. The chilling tagline, “It ends only when you die,” makes the film’s stakes brutally clear.

This kind of meta-horror concept, where the viewer becomes an unwilling audience to a livestreamed nightmare, sits within a broader tradition of found-footage horror that has evolved significantly since its early cinematic roots — you can read more about the genre’s history on Wikipedia’s found footage page.

When Can You Watch It?

“Killing Time” is confirmed to hit theaters in October 2026. No exact date has been revealed yet, but with the poster drop and premise already generating conversation, more details should surface soon.
