Khephren Thuram transfer news: Liverpool agree personal terms for 2023 transfer

Khephren Thuram transfer news: Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram for a transfer this summer. There is also an agreement in principle between the two clubs for a move, but an official bid is yet to be submitted in order to take the transfer to the next step. The player is keen on the transfer, and has interest from other Premier League clubs like Newcastle United and Chelsea as well.

The 22-year-old is the son of Lilian Thuram and the younger brother of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram, who is also expected to be on the move this summer. Manchester United and PSG are among the clubs interested in signing the forward.

Having come through the Monaco academy, Khephren Thuram plays as a defensive midfielder. He could fit in very well as a rotational option for Fabinho, and could even inherit the defensive midfield role from the Brazilian. Standing tall at 6ft 4in, he will be able to provide a very physical presence in the middle of the park, reconstructing the dominance that Liverpool once had in the central areas.

This past season, he played 35 times for Nice, scoring two goals and providing four assists. As a result, he can also play progressively, aligning with the philosophy that Jurgen Klopp likes to implement with his style of play.

Khephren Thuram transfer news: Liverpool website drops major hint

A rather interesting fact suggests that a transfer for Thuram might be much more advanced than we expect. Liverpool have mentioned the player by name on their official website, and have linked to a post by Liverpool Echo where Everton midfielder Neil Maupay says that him and Thuram could soon be neighbours at Merseyside.

As a result, there is a chance that an agreement could be wrapped up between Liverpool and Nice very soon to sanction the transfer.

Khephren Thuram transfer news: Liverpool midfield rebuild continues at high speed

Liverpool recently confirmed the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, and unveiled him as their new number 10. They have started the process of rebuilding their midfield quite early in the transfer window and are now going after other targets, after a number of players left the club with their contracts expired.

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone was also on the radar of the club. But, even though the club is trying to sign new midfielders for the summer, it doesn’t seem like Kone will make the move to Merseyside.
