Khephren Thuram transfer news: Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram for a transfer this summer. There is also an agreement in principle between the two clubs for a move, but an official bid is yet to be submitted in order to take the transfer to the next step. The player is keen on the transfer, and has interest from other Premier League clubs like Newcastle United and Chelsea as well.
The 22-year-old is the son of Lilian Thuram and the younger brother of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram, who is also expected to be on the move this summer. Manchester United and PSG are among the clubs interested in signing the forward.
Having come through the Monaco academy, Khephren Thuram plays as a defensive midfielder. He could fit in very well as a rotational option for Fabinho, and could even inherit the defensive midfield role from the Brazilian. Standing tall at 6ft 4in, he will be able to provide a very physical presence in the middle of the park, reconstructing the dominance that Liverpool once had in the central areas.
This past season, he played 35 times for Nice, scoring two goals and providing four assists. As a result, he can also play progressively, aligning with the philosophy that Jurgen Klopp likes to implement with his style of play.
