Manchester City continued their title challenge with a 4-1 win over rivals, Liverpool. The game started in favour of the Reds with Mohamed Salah finding the back of the net 17 minutes in. However, they could not hold on to their lead, and were sent back humiliated from the Etihad Stadium.

A lot has been expected from the £100 million man since the time he joined Manchester City. And today, he stepped up to put on a show for the home fans with a goal and an assist. Grealish was named the man of the match for his performance, and reminded us exactly what he is capable of on his day. 

Liverpool’s defensive issues continue 

Jurgen Klopp lamented the way his side conceded the goals in the game in the post match press conference. And it has been a recurring theme this season, with the defensive side of things absolutely not as solid as it once was. This has left the team out of contention for the top four, and in a very difficult situation. 

Alvarez shines yet again 

Erling Haaland was unable to play because of injury, and was replaced by Julian Alvarez. But, the World Cup winner has continued to provide goals and assists in spite of not playing regularly. He has scored and assisted 17 goals this season in his 16 starts, which is a remarkable figure by any standards.
