Kerala Blasters defeated SC East Bengal 1-0 to return to the top four in the ISL. Here are the three key talking points from the game.
One goal enough to decide the game
Enes Sipovic scored the only goal of the game, heading the ball into the back of the net from a set-piece situation. The corner found Sipovic at the far post, and he headed the ball in after winning an aerial duel with Mohammad Rafique.
Despite a number of big chances for Kerala throughout the game, they were unable to take advantage of the opportunities. But ultimately, none of it matters since they got all three points from the game.
End of the road for SC East Bengal
Despite the arrival of Manuel Rivera, things have not changed much for SC East Bengal. The Red and Gold outfit have only won one game throughout the season. Their disastrous run of form will seemingly continue until the final day of the season, as they continue to struggle.
They will be restricted to a spot around the bottom of the table this year, and the only hope for them is to come back stronger next year.
Kerala Blasters still in the title race
Kerala are only three points behind Hyderabad FC in the table, with one extra game to play. While their chances of winning the title are relatively slim, given that teams like Jamshedpur FC and ATK Mohun Bagan have two games to play, they can still make it happen.
