Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Kendry Paez from Independiente del Valle. He is not yet allowed to make the move from South America, and will join the first team when he turns 18 in a couple of years.
The deal has been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, and could be officially signed very soon. The majority of the deal has been negotiated in the form of add-ons, which could reach up to €20 million.

Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund were interested in signing the midfielder, but Chelsea have won the race by making first contact. The youngster is one of the most highly rated attacking midfielders from Ecuador, and has made three first team appearances, scoring one goal.
He has attracted a lot of praise for his talent, and is expected to be a bright prospect for the club under their new model.
Kendry Paez isn’t the first talented youngster that Chelsea have recruited from South America this season. They also signed Andrey Santos, the captain of the Brazil U-20 team during the January transfer window. But, a work permit issue prevented him from linking up with the first team.
He has been sent back on loan to Vasco da Gama, and is expected to move to England in the summer when the transfer window opens.
