Keerthy Suresh Takes on the Courtroom in Sathyavan Savithiri — Releasing Worldwide on July 24, 2026

Mark your calendars — one of Tamil cinema’s most intriguing films of the year just got its release date, and it is bringing National Award-winning star Keerthy Suresh face to face with filmmaker-actor Mysskin in a courtroom battle that promises to be anything but ordinary.

What Is Sathyavan Savithiri About?

Sathyavan Savithiri is a female-centric Tamil courtroom drama directed by Praveen S Vijaay and produced by Drumsticks Productions and Zee Studios. The film revolves around two lawyers — played by Keerthy Suresh and Mysskin — with Mysskin portraying Keerthy’s senior advocate.

When her boss chooses to side with wrongdoers in a pivotal case, Keerthy’s character attempts to make him see reason — only to discover his true colours. The case becomes a life-altering turning point, and the film follows how she fights back and rises.

The title itself is steeped in mythology: in the ancient tale, Savithri famously fought Yama, the god of death, to bring back her husband Sathyavan — a story of courage and unwavering determination. The film draws on that same spirit of a woman refusing to bow to injustice.

Why This Film Has Everyone Talking?

The second look poster — two half-faces locked in an intense, grim standoff — said it all: “The battle begins! One will break. One will rise.” The clash of ideologies between a principled young lawyer and her morally compromised senior is layered, emotionally charged, and deeply relevant.

Keerthy Suresh, a National Film Award winner best known for her towering performance in Mahanati, brings her trademark emotional depth to what looks like one of her most demanding roles yet. And with Mysskin — celebrated for his unconventional, intense filmmaking style in films like Pisaasu and Thupparivaalan — stepping in front of the camera as the antagonistic mentor figure, the screen chemistry is bound to crackle.

Shooting has been fully wrapped and the film is currently in post-production, with makers announcing the July 24 release with the declaration: “Your Honour, the stage is set for a grand hearing.”
