There’s something both brave and bittersweet about a young artist choosing her health over the spotlight — and that’s exactly what KATSEYE’s Manon Bannerman has done. What KATSEYE and HYBE Said
The official statement confirmed HYBE’s full support for Manon’s decision, reassuring fans that the group would continue scheduled activities during this period. The remaining five members will carry on while the team awaits Manon’s return when the time feels right.
But the moment that truly resonated with fans came directly from Manon herself. In a heartfelt Weverse DM to her followers, she wrote that she is healthy, okay, and taking care of herself — and that she’s trusting the bigger picture, even when things unfold in unexpected ways. It’s the kind of raw, grounded honesty you rarely see in the K-pop world.
Who Is KATSEYE?
KATSEYE is a six-member global girl group formed through the HYBE and Geffen Records collaboration reality show Dream Academy. Known for their genre-bending sound with hits like Gnarly and Gabriela, the group made waves as two-time Grammy-nominated artists in early 2026. Their fanbase, known as EYEKONS, has been vocal in showing love and support for Manon during this time.
The concept of artist hiatuses for mental and physical health is becoming more normalized in the music industry — and rightfully so. As explored in discussions around music industry mental health, the pressures of idol culture can be immense, making moments like these both necessary and important.
