The striker has confirmed that he will be renewing his deal with the Spanish giants. He is fully committed to the project and would potentially want to retire at the club, having earned his place as one of the top scorers in the history of Los Merengues.

Carlo Ancelotti, Florentino Perez and the rest of the board were all in agreement over the renewal of the club captain. And now, it is only a matter of time before the renewal is made official by the club.

Karim Benzema is currently out injured, and was absent from training ahead of the game against Getafe as well. The forward has had to endure a slow start to the season, following the impressive end to last year. As of right now, the team is trying to work the forward to full fitness, with the performances on the pitch the secondary focus.
