ZEE5 has declared Kunal Khemmu and Shweta Tripathi’s fantastic comedy-drama ‘Kanjoos Makhichoos’ as direct to a digital film. The new comedy-drama film has two days left to hit on the ZEE5. The brand-new stress buster follows the story of Jamnaprasad Pandey who is an infamous miser in the entire town of Deoria, Uttar Pradesh as a miser. His parents, Gangaprasad Pandey and Saraswati Pandey, and wife Madhuri and son Krish are totally disgusted with his Jamna’s penny-pinching habits. After some time the entire family gets tired of Jamna’s frugal ways.
In this film he has seen to be allocated one bucket per person for bathing to using one agarbatti throughout the month, Jamnaprasad has never been spared a single rupee unnecessarily.
Kunal is very excited about the movie as he said, “Kanjoos Makhichoos is the kind of film that I would love to watch with my family because it is a complete mass entertainer. It has the perfect dose of drama, comedy, plot twists, a sweet message, and a whole lot of entertainment. ZEE5 has dropped the trailer of the film that starts with the funny dialogue of Kunal Khemmu who is telling, ‘I have to continue one agarbatti for one month and the one packet for one year’. In one scene we have seen Kunal Khemmu has picked up a rolling board and pressing a completely finished toothpaste to brush the teeth of the entire family. In this film, Kunal Khemmu is playing the role of a person who understands Apple as a fruit, not an iPhone.
The conversation between Shweta Tripathi and Kunal Khemmu is really very funny. However, little does the family know that Jamna has been saving up to fulfill his father’s longstanding wish of going on a char-Dham yatra. Jamna becomes happy by fulfilling the wish of his father, but that does not last long as heavy rains and flooding cut him off from his family. When a person has gone for more than 25 days, the government deems them as deceased and pays compensation of Rs. 7 lakhs for each of the individuals which amounts to Rs. 14 lakhs for Jamna’s parents.
At the time funds reach Jamnaprasad, but they have been deducted Ts. 10 lakhs as middle government employees have divided Ts 4 lakhs of the funds among themselves. Now, Kunal Khemmu has taken this as a challenge to get the remaining four lakhs and cross the limits of all the moneygrubbers.
The director Vipul Mehta also shared details about the film, “Kanjoos Makhichoos is a story of a middle-class, simple-minded Pandey family, belonging to Lucknow. The story has a very realistic approach with humane and relatable characters. The humour depicted in the film is also very natural. In this world of nuclear urban families, our film is focusing on the story of a joint, close-knitted family. The protagonist Jamnaprasad is a miser-minded person and his miserly ways will steal the heart of the audience,” Mehta added.

The story of the film has been written and directed by Vipul Mehta. In this film we are going to see Kunal Khemmu, Shweta Tripathi, Piyush Mishra, Alka Amin, and Rajiv Gupta. In this movie, we are going to see the late Raju Srivastav who is also a part of the film.
