Advance Bookings for Kanguva Cross ₹2.2 Crore in India Ahead of November 14 Release
Kanguva collected ₹42.75 lakh in the Tamil 2D version and ₹1.08 crore in the 3D version. The 2D version is also holding well in Telugu by making ₹38.32 lakh while the share of the 3D version stands at ₹20.37 lakh. The Hindi versions have also done decently with ₹3.17 lakh so far from 2D bookings and ₹7.26 lakh for the 3D format. Currently, Kanguva has grossed ₹78.31 lakh in Tamil Nadu, followed by ₹43.59 lakh from Kerala.
As Kanguva advance bookings opened only a few hours ago, it would be too early to ascertain if the film can indeed beat the ₹4.35 crore record set by Suriya’s previous release Etharkkum Thunindhavan. On its end though, multiplex bookings are still awaited, and where it is going to make a big difference in the final numbers when they open. In Kanguva, Suriya will be seen in dual roles: as a warrior named Kanguva and a modern-day man named Francis Theodore.
The recently released trailer suggests a plot involving resurrection, adding intrigue to the narrative. Bobby Deol plays Udhiran, a warrior, while Disha Patani portrays the love interest, Angelina. The film is set to release in all South Indian languages as well as Hindi, available in both 2D and 3D formats. Given that Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is still performing well at the box office, it remains uncertain how the collections for either film might be impacted by the other’s performance.
